CRUMBLING ROADS OF THE SUB CITY

The roads in Dwarka are in a perilous state and the condition of roads has deteriorated over the years. One of the most common and often reported complaints is the bad condition of roads and one has lost count of the number of times that the authorities have been reminded of their responsibilities of maintaining them properly. There is practically no place in the sub city where the road condition is anything to write home about. In each sector, roads are in a pathetic condition. Says Dr. Suresh Pradhan, “Bad roads have become synonymous with the once-modern sub city. There are potholes and broken stretches of roads practically all over and it is very difficult to drive or walk anywhere.” For pedestrians as well as motorists, it is very difficult to use such roads. Broken roads and potholes makes it very difficult for 2 wheelers to drive. There is a big risk of motor bikes skidding on the road. The roads in many places are virtual death traps. These roads are full of deep ditches and fast moving vehicles are forced to suddenly and sharply swerve left or right to escape these life threatening pits to save themselves and others, but leaving no time for traffic to escape imminent tragedy. These roads need to be re-laid immediately to avoid dangerous and even fatal accidents from taking place.
