Rotary Club Donates Cycles to Students


Rotary Club of Delhi Garden City alongwith Rotary Club of Delhi Govinda gifted 20 cycles to girl students of Govt. Co. Ed. Senior Secondary School, Bamnoli, Dwarka on 28th March. The chief guest on the occasion was Ankit Kumar Singh IPS, DCP, Dwarka.
“I want to thank Rotary club for this kind gesture of donating cycles. My purpose to be here was to encourage the children and interact with them. Rotary club has identified a few children and others will be identified and they too will get cycle.”

“We have invited a few cycle enthusiasts to encourage those who got cycles. Cyclists like Isika Gupta from Decathlon shared the  benefits of cycling and how to maintain it. A cancer survivor who cycles motivated girls to cycle as a best exercise.”

“We want to promote cycling amongst children. We will be doing more events to promote cycling. Cycling events are held in foreign countries to promote cycling for exercise. We want to do the same.”

“We met the Principal who explained that the children of the school are very poor and they walk for 3-4 km to come to school. We identified 20 children who are intelligent but very poor who need to cycle. We also put a condition that these children should continue with their studies. We will now be holding a hearing aid camp and health camp also.”
