Sector 10 to Get Delhi’s First Mini Secretariat
Residents of Dwarka will soon be able to access multiple government services under one roof, with Delhi’s first mini secretariat planned in Sector 10, Dwarka. The initiative aims to make applications, public assistance and complaints easier by bringing various district-level government offices together at a single location. A consultant has already been appointed for the proposed mini secretariat, which is expected to be completed within 18 months. The project has received an administrative approval of ₹212 crore, according to Delhi Government officials. The mini secretariat is proposed to function as a centralised administrative facility where offices of several departments will be located together. Apart from the police, offices including the MCD zone, Social Welfare Department, PWD, Labour Department, Delhi Jal Board and other related government agencies are expected to operate from the same complex.The proposed facility will be developed over approximately 35,535 square metres. Officials said the project is aimed at simplifying the delivery of government services and reducing the need for residents to visit different offices for separate requirements. The building is planned as a green government complex, incorporating facilities such as solar power systems, a sewage treatment plant, rainwater harvesting and other measures to reduce energy and water consumption The proposed design will include facilities such as a waiting area, helpdesk, digital services and a system for registering complaints with the concerned departments. A helpdesk will also assist visitors with applications and related procedures. Once operational, the mini secretariat is expected to provide residents with easier access to essential government services while improving coordination among various departments. The project is being seen as an important step towards creating a more accessible and efficient administrative system for Dwarka and the surrounding areas.
