Ek Mutthi Anubhav Internship Experiential Learning, Teamwork, Leadership and Success
What unfolded during Indian Wheelchair Premier League (IWPL) Season 7 was not just an inspiring sporting spectacle, but also a transformative journey for nearly 70 young participants who stepped into the world of leadership, responsibility and experiential learning through the Anubhav Internship Program, held from June 14 to June 21. Designed as a platform that bridges classroom learning with real-world experience, the Anubhav Internship gave students an opportunity to work behind the scenes of a national-level sporting event while understanding the values of teamwork, discipline, service and inclusion. Participants included first and second-year college students, recent Class 12 graduates and school students from Classes 10 to 12 representing institutions such as IILM, UPES University and top notch schools of Delhi.
Interns were assigned to specialized departments including Event Coordination, Stadium Management, Hospitality, Journalism and Content Writing, Photography, Digital Media and Social Media, where they handled diverse responsibilities ranging from assisting players with logistics and transportation, managing hospitality arrangements, distributing water and ORS, documenting matches, creating media content and ensuring smooth coordination throughout the tournament. The week-long journey began with a grand roadshow across Dwarka, followed by an exhibition match between wheelchair cricketers and the Bal Bhavan Girls Team along with the opening ceremony. Throughout the tournament, interns actively participated in planning meetings and played a crucial role in managing operations while witnessing thrilling matches between Chennai Cholas, Delhi Dynamos, Hyderabad Hawks, J&K Jaguars, Maharashtra Marathas, MP Mavericks, Rajasthani Rajwade and Uttar Pradesh Heroes, whose spirited performances highlighted resilience, sportsmanship and determination. Adding warmth and camaraderie to the tournament were special events such as Hauslon Ki Udaan, a movie outing and a gala dinner, which created memorable moments of interaction and stronger bonds between players and interns. The internship journey concluded with the grand finale and closing ceremony, marking the successful completion of an initiative that went far beyond conventional learning. Throughout the week, the interns became the invisible force driving the smooth execution of the tournament. More than just an internship, Anubhav emerged as a life-changing experience that nurtured confidence, leadership, empathy, teamwork and a deeper understanding of community service among young participants.
